Oh cool, I should have looked there first Steph, thanks for letting us know! In the buddy section?

Roben we're in Gagetown. He's been here for 9 years and I just moved from the states 2 years ago! It sounds like the British forces do it the same as Canada with shorter tours more freqently. The US gets the shaft with being there 12-15 months...do they have longer periods between tours?

jbrock you're totally right, I guess there never is a "good" time...just have to suck it up...it's what I signed up for!

im a british army fiancee my fiance was deployed last year, returned from afghanistan (thank god) this march! he isnt due to be deployed again until at least 2011 so thats all good he is infantry so he tends to get at least a years gap between. wow there are so many more military wives/gfs here too xox

Hubs is in the US Air Force based in Suffolk He was originally deploying end of this year, but luckily he changed jobs so won't be going no more.
Would be awesome to talk to more military wives/spouses

My hubbi is in the British Army..currently in Afghanistan. He should be home in May, just in time for baby to be born...fingers crossed xxx

There's lots of us!!

I'm just curious, how many tours to Afghanistan have you or your men been on?

Obama announced today he's ending the war within 3 years. hmmm. hard to believe.
