Early scan after 2 MCs?

I had a MMC in August and a very early MC in October. Im now just over 5 weeks and things are so far so good...fingers crossed, touch wood!!!

I have absolutely zero chance of waiting til my 12 week scan to see if all is ok, we will pay for a scan for peace of mind but when do you think it would be best to go for us to see a heartbeat?

Seeing a heartbeat thats beating properly would be amazing and a first for us!!!

can't speak from experience as was pregnant with first but first scan at 12 weeks showed only 5 week pregnancy so had d&c on monday but have been wondering the same for next time. I was thinking about 8 weeks would be a good time for me personally and should show hb by then and enough to reassure us.

Im really sorry to hear that! be strong, I promise it does all get better!!

Anyone else? when did you all see a HB?

Hi there, so sorry for your losses! Hope ur ok with this pregnancy.

I had a scan on friday and was dated at 6weeks3days and we saw a little fluttery heartbeat!!!My midwife said from 6 weeks you should see heartbeat.

i would have one at the end of 6 weeks and into 7 weeks....heart should be beating by then....starts to beat in the 6th week

Congrats Beachlover. I know how stressful it can be with previous mcs. I would go to your EPU from 6.5 weeks. Why should you pay for private scan? You have had enough heartache. If you went to your doctor I'm sure they would issue a scan letter for you due to your history. We saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks and 3 days but sometimes you don't until end of 6 weeks. I'm keeping everything crossed for you this time xx

i agree with widger sweetie, push for a nhs scan, you deserve to have at least one early one to help put your mind at ease.
