8+2 weeks.. no midwife appointment?

Hey ladies.
My doctor told me to ring them when I was 8 weeks, so I can get the paperwork done with them to refer me to the midwife.

Is it a problem leaving it this late? I will be 12 weeks on Christmas eve.. and what are the chances of me getting a scan before this?

Do you think they will more than likely do it on say the 23rd or something.. or wait untill Jan? I really hope they don't haha!! x

I'm not seeing my MW until next week, but that time I'll be 10 weeks. I'll be 12 weeks on the Monday before Christmas and I'm really hoping to get my scan before Christmas. I'll let you know how long it takes me to get a scan appt.

I saw midwife first at the booking in appt at 12wks - at that appt she arranged for the scan the following week.

If you are feeling well and not bleeding/in pain etc then just take it easy til you see the midwife

It's normal to wait until you're 10 weeks for your first midwife appointment, because they can't do half the blood tests they need to do until that point. I don't know how busy the sonographers are in the run-up to Christmas, but it's possible you will have to wait until the new year for a scan. I have to wait until I'm 21 weeks for my 20 week scan, so it's nothing out of the ordinary

My 8-10w run right over Christmas & New Year's so I'm going on January 6. I'll be 10w 3d then. I would have liked it to be sooner but oh well, gives me something to look forward to in January.
