There's no way in hell i would risk it!
As other ladies have said, no good tattooists would tattoo a pregnant woman. There are risks of skin being more sensitive and becoming infected, you fainting and your body not coping very well, as well as the problem with pain doing all sorts with your blood pressure.
You've only got 7 months, it's not long to wait.
I'm covered in tattoos so well and truly hooked. But it's not worth it. Just wait it out hun x

If the artist agrees to tattoo you, I would find another artist in 9 months time!!

I have 9 hours of work booked in for the beginning of next year, hey ho I'd rather have a baby. My artist will still be there in a year (as will my deposit )

Hey!
you can get a tattoo as it doesnt harm the baby, the reason against it is hormones and changes in your acid mantle(part of the epidermis in the skin) a tattoo done while pregnant is more likely to fade within 3 yeears, and for the ink to spread and run outwards, looking like a big bruised mess.
Not worth it if you want a good quality tattoo... however good the artist, the tattoo wont be great after about 2/3 years. Dull, colourless, smudged and gross!!

x

Iv spoken to a few different tattoo artists whilst getting mine done over the years and none of them would tattoo a pregnant women or breasting feeding women too if i remember correctly. The fact you say this is a big no no but still wanted to know makes me think your still considering having it done? Wouldnt it make more sense for you to just wait until after your baby is born for the sake of a tattoo? I know what i would so just me though

Any way a good tattooist wouldnt tattoo a pregnant woman.

good luck with what ever you decide!!

whats the design btw??

That is exactly the reason why it isn't a good idea. No one knows for sure the effect that the huge adrenaline rush would have on your baby. It is not only the pain, but the anticipation of the pain that causes this adrenaline rush. It is a very stressful thing for your body, and stress isn't good for baby.
Infection is a secondary concern.

Where on earth did you hear that? I'd like to see proof that this is true, as I really don't think it is. I will have to ask one of my artists and see what they say.

No, I was curious? Like half the people on this forum!!
Just wanted to see if there was any REAL evidence as to whether it was harmful or not.
Not just peoples opinions.

They generally advise for pregnant women to not get any tattoos because of the risk of infection, sometimes it's not even the needle, it can be a womens reaction to the ink especially considering skin is more sensitive during pregnancy. I have 5 tattoos and have researched this before. And I never got any of my tattoos during a 2WW either, just in case!

There are real risks, but in the end, it is your choice to decide whether or not to take it. After all, a risk does not mean "you WILL miscarry". it means a risk exists.

Also, I get tired of people saying, "how could you risk your baby!?", well, to be honest, how can you risk your baby by risking a car accident by being in a car? You are more likely to get injured in a car accident than say, lift a 30lb weight one time (sorry, I'm a weightlifter and I'm not giving that up).

Do what you feel is right after you have the knowledge and don't feel bad about it. It is your body, your baby, and your choice.

That's just my feeling on risks in general. No tattoos for me - I don't care for them!

I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt not to get one while pregnant... My brother is a tattoo artist and he said absolutely not and any tattoo artist willing to do it knowing your pregnant is someone you should not trust at all!
