Although the ink doesn't enter the blood stream, you could get an infection in it (not necessarily from the tattooists needle) which could effect the baby..not worth the risk IMO

Its not that its not safe. The ink doesnt enter your blood stream. Its the trauma the tattoo inflicts on your body. I know you may think thats a bit soft, but there are grown men that faint during a tattoo. your pregnant body is already under alot of stress, pluss increased blood flow and hormones!!

Any way a good tattooist wouldnt tattoo a pregnant woman.

good luck with what ever you decide!!

whats the design btw??

I've got one on my belly, around my belly button...I can't wait to see how big it gets lol. I figure even when it does stretch out it'll still look cuter than the stretch marks will hehehe.

no it shouldnt affect your baby, as the ink does not enter the blood stream. But you have to be carefull of infection and sometimes because of the hormones the ink doesnt take properly and you could end up with a patchy tat!

Its the stress it puts on your body that is the problem

My boyfriend is a tattoo artist and he says that it's good practice NOT to tattoo pregnant women. I know he won't do it at all, and has been asked plenty of times.

He says the biggest risk is infection. Pregnancy hormones can make the skin more sensitive and sometimes it can get infected. Even with the best tattoo artist, you are still putting an abrasion on your skin and that always has the chance to get infected.

That is his opinion anyway.
