| Bright red spotting Hi ladies,
I know there are endless posts on spotting, so sorry to add another! But...
Tonight I had a little cramp slightly below my belly button and to the left (nothing major), then started bleeding a bit - and it was bright red fresh looking blood. Slightly more than spotting, but really not much. It stopped, then happened again a couple hours later, same thing.
I called the hospital and spoke with a nurse who said just wear a pad and keep an eye on it. It hasn't gotten worse at all, and I don't have anything besides the usual dull cramps that I've been having for a while. I wouldn't call it pain.
Is the bright red a bigger issue? I've been reading that brownish or pink is ok...what do you think? Thanks for your help! | | | | Status: Offline

| I've just had my blood taken to test HCG after spotting. At about 5 weeks it could just be implantation bleeding, but its always best to get it checked. And the pain could be your uterus getting bigger to make space for baby.
But any bleeding should be checked. Im still waiting for results, and i dont know what they actually wanted my blood for. I just know i was too early for a scan. But you should be fine. Hope everythings ok xx | | | | Status: Online

| i wouldn't accept that answer from the nurse.
i would physically go to the hospital if your obgyn is not available right now.

| I have been having a lot of bleeding this pregnancy. I have had spotting with my first 2 as well. I have been very worried as well. With my spotting, I even passed a couple blood clots but I have went to the hospital had an early scan. The found out that I have a blood clot between the uterus and Placenta so I think I have been passing it when I pee. Its very scary because it still freaks me out but I think i'll feel better on monday as we have an early screening ultrasound and we can make sure that the baby is ok. Good luck. | | | | Status: Offline

| hey chick, I had some spotting. You will perhaps need to just put your feet up and see what happens. Mine seems to have stopped. You will relax if you see someone who will poke and prod you so if you can do that.
At the end of the day if its not going to happen you will know about it and right now nothing dramatic has occured so just just feet up and chill out.
I know its very scary- I was in your place only a few days ago. But look how many people have had the same. That must be reassuring. xxx | | | | Status: Offline

| hun i had bright red spotting at the same time as you, i phoned the epu and was told the same, to wear a pad n monitor the bleeding, it turned out to be implantation bleeding, hence the slight cramps, about a week later i had another bit of bright red blood when i wiped and again was reassured unless it got heavier i should be fine, its so so common but i know how scary it is xx | | | | Status: Offline
