can a UTI cause "spotting"?

Hey girls

I have had some first morning wee spotting, which only appears after I have wee'd. I have been pre wee wiping (the things we do) and nothing, then post wee I get a couple of spots of pink.

I was petrified at first and went to the walk in and they tested my urine. It came back with a little bit of protein and she checked me for kidney pain etc but nothing.

I am starting to wonder if my first morning wee (will have been kept in the longest i guess) is infected and the spots i am finding are from urethra rather than cervix?

Any one got any ideas on this? The spotting dissapears completely in the day and having a wee is a tiny bit uncomfortable but nothing else to report symptom wise?

It's funny that you mention this because the first time I had spotting, around 6 weeks, I had a UTI and was on antibiotics for it. I was never told it could be related to the UTI, I was told it was more likely old blood making it's way out from implantation. xx

I shall continue my wiping quest to work it out!

I should write a book on wiping techniques.

hey, few months ago i had a UTI myself, but it didn't hurt or anything,
then when i wiped i had pink spots too (didn't know i had a UTI then), then later on
i noticed i had to go more frequent and there was more pink on the paper,
then it started to hurt and i noticed i was actually peeing blood

so yes, its definatly possible that the pink spotting is from a UTI

thanks chick- it seems to have stopped now (touch wood)

its such a worry though. Every crampy feeling I get I start to panic! Wish I could relax!

I used to get chronic uti's when I was younger and I always had spotting with them.
