Please keep us posted, I am also finding this very interesting as being in a country where they won't scan you (or even examine you!) for this, I am very very happy to hear that others have had scans and all is fine.

Am keeping my fingers crossed for you beatnick - do try to stay as calm as you can (easier said than done!)

Hi, I'm nearly 7 weeks now, and has this for about a week from day before my af was due, was terrified, convinced all was lost, and had 2 early scans, 1st wasn't great, showed a collapsing corpus luteum and a hemmorage, so i thought it was all over what with the bleeding but the second one showed a fluttery little heartbeat, and that all was normal, i had(tmi!) a bit of pink when i wiped the odd time, and a brown discharge for the rest, all has settled down now, and they said it's very common, and as long as there is not a lot of blood, and no severre pain, then all is fine, i'm sure you'll be ok, like i was, and things will settle down again, i know it's hard to stop worrying, but i really think it's nothing to worry about.
Whereabouts are you in the uk?
i just called my local hospitals Emergency gynae unit(EGU) directly, you can find out where there's one near you online, or an early Prenancy unit (epu)perhaps, they're much better than going through your doctor, much quicker.
let us know how you get on, and good luck

If you are concerned just call the early pregnancy unit directly. When I had my ectopic before they knew what that was I just self referred. Good luck. XXX

Hey ladies.
I had some minimal spotting at exactly 6 weeks, along with bad pains on my left side! They took me into emergency pregnancy unit, did an internal scan to check not ectopic and all is well! Got to see a little bean with a little fluttering heartbeat. I was so so so worried at first, nearly fainted at the sight of the spots of blood when I wiped (sorry TMI....) but docs and hospital were so supportive. Talked us through everything! They think I was constipated and had caused my cervix to bleed a tiny bit due to pressure and straining! Sounds horrible, but apparently VERY common!
So, the moral is, get checked out, but I'm sure everything will be ok!
Good luck sweetie
xxxxxx

thanks so much girls. I gave up waiting for my docs to call me back and went to the walk in. The nurse was fantastic. I had to do another preg test ( she took about 10 minutes to come back- nearly died) and it was positive. She put it in some kind of machine to analyse it (it was great to hear it from someone else)

She also said I had some protein present which could suggest a urine infection - although have no sympoms. She gave my belly a good feel and checked my kidneys and temps. She said pink is fine and just either my cervix bleeding a bit (last smear said lightly inflamed cells) or could be my uterus shedding a little bit as my hormones are not high enough to completley stop it at this early stage. She just said to watch out for dark blood or prune coloured with lots of pain.

I feel much better now- I must say I am more impressed with the walk in than my docs. I wouldnt have gotten that all over the phone.

Ive been to the loo about 100 times today and no more spots touch wood. she just reminded me that its very very early days and most women dont even know they are pregnant at this stage.so to put my feet up and try to relax.

I am currently watching telly with my feet up and dh is at tesco buying food for tea which he is also going to cook. Ive been told not to move! Loving that!

Im so relieved that you all have had similar and had lovely scans. I am going to the doctors on tuesday afternoon so will feel better then.

for now- I am calm.

my local early pregnancy unit (portsmouth) told me they only took doctor referals. I felt very alone at that stage as the nurse had not called me back!

That is REALLY interesting as a few of the ladies were posting in another thread that they had red spotting after a bowel movement and found it very worrying.

OK it's an odd thing to discuss but frankly anything that puts people's minds at rest should be out in the open

I went thru the same at 5-6 weeks (got a hospital ultrasound at 6+5). Yes, it is frightening (more than anything you will ever know yet!) but the only thing you can do is see a doc & wait it out. It comes quick. Scary! But it's all you can really do.

Mine turned out to be an irritated cervix.
