All I want is PASTA!!!

It's all I want to eat...

Anyone have ideas for making it "healthier" and more balanced of a meal than just pasta with sauce?

I've been eating it with olive oil and garlic pesto with lemon juice (so yummy) but I'm thinking I really do need ways to put other good for me foods into it.

I do pasta lots of different ways:
- with minced meat, pepper, salt, maybe cumin and fried tomato sauce(bolognaise)
- with tuna sauce (just onion, garlic, tuna and fried tomato sauce, black pepper and parsley)
- with bacon, onion, black pepper and cream (carbonara)
- with olive oil, garlic and parsley
- with butter and oregano
- with sliced sausage, fried tomato sauce, black pepper and oregano
- pasta salad (just make a salad, whatever ingredients and toss some cold pasta in, they do it a lot here and it fills you up and is extra healthy!)
- They also do a stew with pork, broad beans, potatoes and pasta, it's really nice! Oh and they add veggies such as pumkin, squash and carrots...
- Pasta with spinach sauce.(I learnt it from my mum, just fry a little onion and garlic in olive oil, add bacon bits if you want and when it's ready just add a block of frozen spinach they sell or fresh if you want. Once that has "cooked" add some cream and it will make a lovely sauce for your pasta.)

As you can see, I love condiments, onions and garlic, but you can choose not to add those or you can use freshly made home tomato sauce instead of fried. I just edited to add oregano as it goes sooo well with pasta!
Enjoy!!!

Whole wheat pasta with pesto, olive oil, and lemon juice is actually quite healthy (I didn't say low calorie, LOL, but it is healthy). Throw in some grilled shrimp or chicken. Add some spinach. Perfect meal!

Gluten free pasta is a lot better for you if you can make it taste good with sauces.
another pasta alternative is spaghetti squash! I love it with butter.
I love chicken, broccoli and ziti with olive oil and parmesean.
Chicken cacciatore is sooo easy to make in a slow cooker, and adds protien and veggies to your pasta! I can send you a recipe if you want.

I'm hungry!
