brown discharge

I got brown discharge yesterday when i wiped.

it happened after trapsing through town for 4 hours xmas shopping, and holding on to my wee!!

it seems to have gone now.

I have no aches or pains. just slight twinges every now and then.

I hope everything is ok in there.

i have a couple of busy days ahead as we have booked some time away, but will involve a bit of walking.

I had it yesterday ... I'm sure everything is fine (am at about 5 weeks) but naturally I am freaking out!!

I don't see any reason why walking should make it any worse. (It certainly won't cause a miscarriage, if that's what's at the back of your mind.) I was resting at home all day yesterday and still had the discharge last night.

I'll be seeing the doctor tomorrow anyway so I'll let you know what she says.

I had this at about 7 weeks, I was told by midwife that it could just be implantation and not to worry about it. She said if it was bright red "fresh" blood then go to hospital.

It only lasted a few days then went.

Hope everything is ok for you both xx

I had it at 6 weeks (and again at 8 weeks) and I saw my baby waving it's little arms on Friday. Try not to worry

Thank you both - logically I know I should try not to worry but anecdotes from others really do help.

If it was a friend of mine I would be telling her that it is not unusual in the first trimester, and so not to start panicking. But it's so hard to take your own advice!

it's all normal

I had brown discharge as well last week, I called my aunt who is an OB, and she said that it's perfectly normal...
Your insides are growing and moving around and it could be old blood that is passing through, and can be around the time that your body would usually expect a period. It can also be from recently having sex.
But, she said that unless it gets bright red, that brown discharge is old blood and don't worry about it. Just keep an eye that it doesn't get bright red and you dont have any cramping!

I had this from 6 to 8 weeks every day and then on an off after that till about 10 weeks or so. Was told all normal and had scans that showed all ok. It can be a sign that all is well too so try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know) n
