oh yay!!! anyone know if this is right??

ok so i got my bfp on 18th November. My LMP was 20th October. so going by my LMP i am 4 weeks 5 days. however as i have a 31 day cycle (i think) when i get a ticker and put 31 day cycle they put me back to 4 weeks 2 days as my cycle is 3 days longer than the average 28 days. so which am i??? do i not date it from last LMP regardless to cycle length?? thanks!!

Hey hunni,
I don't think you do.. im pretty sure the cycle length has a lot to do with it, because it all depends on when you ovulated. If you have a 31 day cycle, im assuming you ovulate around the 16th day ish?! Where as most women would ovulate around the 14th day.

Which only puts you out about 2 days

but why do they always say work from ur LMP??? with my son it worked that way too. i just checked my calculations with him and it counted friom my LMP. My LMP with him was 11/12/07 and my due date was 16/09/08/ and i remember at my 20 week scan the midwife asked me about my cycle length and when i said 31 days she did her calculations and worked out the 16 September??!! and he measured a day ahead too so i dunno???

It's all based on "average" cycles... ie 28 day cycle with OV on day 14. Not many of us are like this.
Midwife has gone by LMP date for now and will review after 12 week scan x

Most calculators I have found use your LMP but then ask for your average cycle length. It's a bit confusing to me as it hasn't really been the same, so I have gone for the average of my cycles which is 30 days, which takes me to a due date of 24th July. The NHS one is a good one http://www.nhs.uk/planners/pregnancy...alculator.aspx

They also have a cool desktop thing so you can keep track on what's happening each week

i've gone with conception date, as i know when i ovulated, & my cycle was slightly longer than a normal 28 day cycle. my midwife has gone with my lmp though.

My mw added one day to my lmp to determine how far along I am, but I think I ov'd a couple days later based on my temps and opk's so I think my due date is 2 days later than she thinks. I'll find out at my first scan I suppose, whenever that's gonna be.
