| Flying while pregnant? Hi ladies! I had a miscarriage last year, not due to anything really they just said it was chromosomes but it still has me terrified for this pregnancy, and next week when I'll be about 4 weeks pregnant I'm supposed to fly an international flight, about 14 hours at all, I was wondering how safe this is? Have any of you ladies flown while pregnant? Is it going to increase my chance of a miscarriage? Or am I just being overly paranoid? Thanks ladies! | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi Lauren! First off... congrats on your BFP!!
I have heard that flying is perfectly safe, just make sure that you don't sit for too long of periods if it can be avoided... make sure you get up and walk around every once in a while.
Also, stay hydrated. Make sure that you drink lots of water.
If you are concerned though, pass it by your doc and see if they have any recommendations for you.
Good luck and have a great trip! | | | | Status: Offline

| I agree, it should be perfectly safe, only after about 30 weeks i dont think you should be flying. | | | | Status: Online

| HI! I live in hawaii, and when i was about 12 weeks pregnant with my daughter i flew to the mainland and back and everything was fine! I'll be flying back to the mainland in a month from now, too. Nothing to be worried about! The only time you cannot fly during pregnancy is in your third trimester because it can make you go into preterm labor. | | | | Status: Offline

| I'm going on holiday in March, will be 20 weeks by then so hoping it should be fine. I have a friend who flew back and forth to America through all 3 pregnancies and everything was fine. | | | | Status: Online

| Hi,
I flew at 7 weeks pregnant for a 4 1/2 hour flight and it went fine. Doc told me to wear flight socks, drink plenty of water and walk around as much as possible.
I know where you are coming from about worrying about a miscarriage however they do say it is safe and the doc and midwife assured me it is safe to fly.
Hope this helps a little | | | | Status: Offline

| also, i just thought of something! idk if anyone's already told you, but don't wear anything tight on your legs... no tube socks either. maybe loose sweats or jeans. anything tight will decrease blood flow and make any nausea worse, and possibly cause you to pass out... so NOTHING TIGHT!! other than that, have an AWESOME TRIP!! | | | | Status: Offline
