Pregnancy - First Trimester

afternoon ladies!

well ive got my early scan on monday (ill be 5 weeks and 6 days), this is due to having a molar pregnancy last time around. im feeling more positive about this pregnancy than the last one but at the same time im absolutely terrified of having another molar.

to anyone that has had an early scan what should i expect to see at 5 weeks 6 days.. the midwife said not to be worried if a heartbeat isnt seen

Hi there
I had an early scan last week at 5 weeks 0 day. We just saw a sac. No yolk or hb. The nurse seemed less than thrilled, and it was all very disheartening.

From what I gather however this is normal and we are having another on Tues at 6 weeks +1.

hi hun i had a scan at 5 weeks and there was just a sac which wasnt very rerassuring cos they have to see hb to rule out molar so i was booked in for another scan at 7 weeks.

If i was to do it again, i wouldnt be scanned so early cos it left me with no reassurance and i went home feeling more worried even though everything has been fine and bubs is healthy.

so please dont worry if you dont see hb, you may be lucky and see it but most people dont see until around 7-8 weeks.

thankyou girls :-) ethan amelia.. i am telling myself at the moment if i dont see a heartbeat then its fine ill just wait till the next scan a week later but i know if there isnt a heartbeat im gonna be really upset.

first tri is hard! x

hey hun when i went for my first scan she thought id be anywhere between 5+4 and 7+1 (turned out i was 6+5) coz of my cycles n dates, i asked if it was 5+4 if i would see a heartbeat n she said most likely not but there would be a sac n yolk so dont be disheartened if you dont see a HB hun they'll book you in again for a week or so and when you do see it its te most beautifully wonderful thing in the world....thinking of you tomorrow hun take care xxx
