We are going round for dinner tomorrow night....so I already have to make excuses as to why I won't have the usual couple of glasses of wine. Well, I just got dh to ring up and find out what she's cooking thinking I'd be quite unlucky if she was cooking something I can't eat whilst pregnant as it's quite a small list afterall... Starter: Prawns and Scallops Main: Chicken wrapped in prosciutto stuffed with goats cheese Ha ha has she tried to think of every forbidden item?!!!!!!!! Well after intial panic I read I can eat shellfish if cooked thoroughly and cured meat if cooked. Just checking goats cheese - knowing my luck will have raw eggs in the pud!! Can't wait till all this lying can stop!!! xxxxx |

And of course you wouldn't know without asking! (and letting the cat out of the bag) Maybe you can just say you don't like goat cheese and have your husband ask if she can leave it out of your piece? |

If it helps though, I am sure I read somewhere that if cooked, goats cheese is safe as the heat kills off any bacteria that causes listeria. http://www.whichtable.com/art_pregnancy.asp#h_89025 How long before you tell your MIL? I think the shellfish thing is when not cooked too like oysters but mil likes to cook things thouroughly so I have that on my side!! It was so funny when dh was on the phone I was mouthing at him to stop as he was asking questions like 'and will the prosciutto be cooked?'!! I was like how obvious is that ha ha oh well it's all good fun!! We are having our scan Dec 8th and we are going to try and hold out till Christmas eve as we want it to be a sort of Christmas present. After the scan though I don't know if we'll be able to keep schtum!! xxxx |

Firstly, I was checking a date for her in my diary and as I opened the page, she was looking over my shoulder... I had written in my diary... 17th December... 2nd Trimester! Then I noticed that I had left my Folic Acid tablets on the kitchen table for all to see and couldn't move them without being obvious. Lastly, we had put my pregnancy book (given to me by my midwife) under the new coffee table, which hubby proceeded to show MIL... (the table, not the book) Bless her she didn't say anything... but OMG!!!!! she must be daft if she hasn't twigged on. I have my scan on Wednesday.. I have waited this long... only a few more days until we reveal all. |

Yeah a ruddy great pregnancy test saying positive will do that!!!! |
