Faint Hpts

I am worried because my 's are all faint. Barely barely getting darker. I took 1 yesterday morning, 1 last night, 1 this morning and 1 just now. Shouldn't it have been darker by now? I am a worrier and I really want this pregnancy to stick!

Maybe try a different brand? Some of the cheap ones came out light even when i was 7 weeks pregnant but the FRER and Clearblues all came out dark. Or get a digital one with no lines at all, then you'll see it in black and white so you can stop testing! x

Dont even bother trying any more tests.

If you got a positive then congrats - faintness of the line is absolutely no indication of the actual progress of the pregnancy!

The line is just a yes/no for pregnant or not. The lines are not supposed to get darker as tests are not supposed to indicate 'how' pregnant you are!

Congrats!

I've heard.. that the further along you are, sometimes you can get negatives on tests, because you're HCG is so high!
Not too sure how true this is though! x

I second this. I freaked out because the line in my second test was not as dark as the first one had been.
I then waited 2 days, took a digi, saw it in black and white and promised myself NOT to test any more. No period = no worries, and if there are worried then an HPT is not going to help me to diagnose them. That's what I need the doctors for.

Please stop testing - I know the feeling so well and it is NOT good for you at all. It's horrible! You are preggers and you just have to wait and see what happens next!

It's so hard for us to feel like we have no control over this, but in the end that's pretty much how it works out. Step away from the HPTs and join us in the thread for paranoid knicker-checkers!

Pregnancy tests only react to certain levels of hcg. If you keep testing as you get further along they will come out negative eventually as the levels will be too high for the test to recognise. (Although if you add water to your pee and then dip the test in it should come out positive as the hcg is diluted).

I think the faintness of the line is maybe to do with the brand too. Depends how much dye they've put in!
