Will the midwife be able to hear heartbeat with doppler at 11 weeks?

I have an appt on Wednesday (day before Thanksgiving) and I'll be 11w3d. Will she try to use the doppler? We want to tell the family at Thanksgiving but I don't know if I can do it without some sort of confirmation that everything is still OK.

my dr used one at 12 weeks with dd and found a hb but with ds she tried at 12 weeks and couldn't find it but at 16 weeks he had a good strong one. it wouldn't hurt to ask the worst she can say is no. if she does do one remember that it's still early and if she doesn't find one that doesn't neccasarly mean there is a problem with the baby.

My doctor tried to listen at 8 weeks! She couldn't find anything but I didn't expect to hear anything.

I just had an appointment at 9w4d and we heard the heartbeat via doppler. My doc said this is pretty much the earliest you'll hear it. Apparently we got lucky (he was also pushing my uterus up from down-below while using the doppler).
