| Question about discharge-changes Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone else has this before; yesterday i noticed my discharge was brown in colour (like end of period colour blood) but there was no itching, no bad smells and i didnt have any pain. It was def discharge-everything was as normal but the colour?
My midwife is on holiday and so ive been told to see my gp instead, ive got an appointment tomorrow.
Ive spoken to my sister (whos got three kids) and she had similar things going on, as well as bleeding as some points-but everything was ok. So shes told me not to worry, but see what the gp says to give me peace of mind.
Is it likely to be an infection? as it isnt itchy, smelly etc? I've only had a bit of it, not loads. So far today i havent seen much discharge at all.
I have read that around the time of when your period would have arrived, sometimes you can get discharge like this.
Any ideas or experiences of this?

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's unlikely to be an infection. It's also true that when AF would usually turn up you can have a little bleeding. I did but only on one month I think when I was 8 weeks. I also had some brown discharge at 10 weeks and some bad cramping too but it turned out to be nothing. A little bleeding is very common in early pregnancy and as long as you have no cramps with it then it's usually nothing. Especially if it's not heavy or fresh blood. The doctor may send you for a scan just to check though. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My scan on monday showed I'd had a bleed and the sonographer told me it was normal and I may see brown old blood type discharge or it might be absorbed back into my system - either way is fine. It sounds like old blood so I wouldnt get too concerned. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | brown = old blood and is really really common. Unless you get severe cramping and/or fresh blood, I wouldn't worry too much (easier said than done, I know). And even then, cramping and fresh blood doesn't always end in the worst either..... chin up |
