I only had my booking appt last Tuesday, so I haven't got my scan invitation letter yet. I see you're in Suffolk - how long did it take for your letter to come through (assuming you're going to Ipswich hospital)? I'm so impatient lol.

We're about the same time in our pregnancies too, I guess my scan will be after yours then. That's a pain as I was hoping it would be before Christmas so we can send out cards with scan pics in.

I think I'll be arranging a private scan if the appts take that long.

My midwife appointment was Thursday 12th, and i got my letter yesterday, so it didn't take long. I'll be going to Ipswich as well. Just out of interest i was googling yesterday and it seems you can pay for extra reassurance scans at anytime at Ipswich hospital for £50 each ( i don't know if that means anytime after the initial 12 week scan??) http://www.ipswichhospital.net/patie...ionalscans.asp

That's interesting, I may give them a ring on Monday and see if I can get one before 12 weeks. I really just want to see the heartbeat and know that baby's OK.

You got your letter reasonably quick, I'll keep my fingers crossed that mine arrives next week and make a decision on having a private scan once I know the date.

I opted to have the nuchal scan and bloodtests at the same time, are you having those done too?

I am 13 weeks today and my dating scan is on thursday 26th Nov. I understand how hard it is to wait but we just have to be patient.

Sorry, pretty pointless post but i just needed a bit of a rant!
I know exactly how you feel - I got my appointment through yesterday - my scan is not until the 17th December, although it is nice that it is before Christmas. My DH and I are desperately saving as we have recently moved and a bigger mortgage and maternity leave don't go well together so I can't even book a private scan! Ahhhhhh!!!! O am doing the same...have not needed the loo as regularly today, one minute I am grateful...the next I am thinking 'What if....?' I just want to see the bub to know that everything is OK and then hopefully I can stop being so PARANOID!!!!!!!
Anyway, that was long winded but basically I feel the same...if you ever need another rant I will be right behind you! LOL!

Aren't you all meant to have the 1st scan between 12 - 13 weeks to be able to have the nuchal scan test etc? I was told anything before or after that would mean invalid results?? I would call them and make sure you get one based on your EDD if they have booked you later than 13 weeks.
