I had this spotting from (almost) the moment I found out I was pregnant and I kept reassuring myself that it happens to a lot of women - and it does. I can't quote statistics but I think it's almost a third!

My own story didn't end well though, as I m/c'd two days ago at just 6w 3d.
I'm not trying to scare you or bring you down, but if you are unhappy then just go to A&E. I did. They referred me to the EPU; I had a 5-week scan and my hcg levels tested. On the day I went to A&E it was 458. Two days later it was 729, not doubled, but they said it was going in the right direction.

I had bloods taken 4 days later and sadly miscarried the same day.
When the EPU phoned and told me the hcg level of that blood work it was back at 470 - already dropping.

So, what was my point? If your hcg is going up then don't worry so much about the spotting.
Take yourself off to A&E and get it checked.
I know I could not have sat at work and wondered for another day.

I hope you have the happy ending!

Hi hun, i am gatecrashing from 2nd tri! I had this at 6 weeks too, and 8 and 10. i worried sick at the time but it turned out to be nothing. The rule is though if it worries you too much you must speak to your midwife xxx

I asked the doc if it was normal to bleed, I bled brown and pinky colour, with no clots, and she said it was normal. She said if I did bleed again to call her on her mobil phone but not to worry.

Im back from the doc. She was really nice and doesn't think its anything to worry about at the moment. Said if I get a lot of bleeding, with bad cramps then to give them a call, but otherwise, just relax over the weekend. Feel a bit happier now. xx
