**UPDATED** back from scan..** Dr. sending me for early scan to check not ectopic :-(

...well the dreaded moment is over!!
Scan went well, baby right in centre of my uterus, right size for 5 weeks and saw yolk sac which looked fine and my ovaries are fine!! Phew!!! Can't tell u how relieved I am!!!
Got to have another scan on 27th to check again and make sure baby is growing cause obviously things still can go wrong but if they are happy with that one and can get a heartbeat then I'll be in the clear and won't need another one till 12 weeks!!
So the stabby pain, the midwife said is likely to be stretching so u girls were right there and the numbness well, midwife couldn't explain that but she said I may just be noticing every little change as I'm so worried! She said that abdominal part of our bodies at this change is just so confused were likely at this stage to feel so many changes!!
So we can all sleep at night now!!
She said really the only thing I need to worry about at the moment is any bleeding which thank god I haven't had!
Thank u ladies for ur support u definately made me feel at ease, I hope I can return the favor if needed!
H&H 9 months to u all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello ladies, just got back from dr appt to confirm pregnancy. Dr was very nice and congratulated me and also remembered me from last time after my m/c and asked if they found anything that went wrong as was genuinly very nice.
Anyways, he asked how im feeling and i said tired, hungry and getting stabby pains in my belly. He said he would liek to send me for an early scan just to check baby is in womb and its not ectopic. He said he dosnt want to worry me but he would sleep better tonight knowing hes booked me one as i had problems last time.
I told him my concerns in that before my last m/c the sonographer didnt really see much and told me the pregnancy was a 50/50 chance of being viable and how mean and rude they were so hes sending me to a different hospital this time.
I asked him if he thought it was ectopic and he said no, but he would just like to monitor me closely this time.
Should i be worried, the pains are mild stabby pains, some days more intense than others but nothing painful enought to worry me and they are both sides, inface more central and i got very sore mid back pain.
Has anyone had an ectopic before.
I am obviously very worried but because my last pregnancy was non viable am finding it hard to know if symptoms are normal?
Appt is thursday at 10.30am, pray for me girls xxxxxxxx

I have had these pains too and it is probably your ligaments softening and your uterus stretching. It bodes well that it is both sides too. I am sure you are picking up on more signs as you are naturally worried after your m/c. Hopefully you'll get more reassurance at your scan. Good luck xxxxxx xxxxx

I had that, and am having it now! Everything with my son turned out okay! Don't think I had them with the last m/c...so guess that's good??

Best just to make sure, it's good to know the doc is monitoring you! Good luck, let us know

hey.. i think he kinda doesnt know what hes talking about when he says that 5 weeks is too early for stretching pains because no matter what pregnancy website you go on it says cramping is very common from as early as 4 weeks!

ive been having cramping too, as have many other girls on 1st tri and we cant all be having ectopics.

best of luck at your scan hun xx

Hey hun.
I have just got back from my first (official) GP appt after last weeks disaster and I told doc about the menstrual type cramps I was having and she said it is completely normal, even this early on as everything is stretching for the first time. It was much nicer to see a woman, she has 2 children and said she had these pains early on too!!
She said not to worry, unless there is any spotting! How do you feel in yourself?
Please try not to worry, I'm sure everything will be fine on Thurs!!
xxxx
