I've taken a pregnancy test 3 times (1 x at the doctors, 2 x at home) and a blood test. Blood test, last test done, was done two weeks ago on Friday. AF is 18 days late and I'm having almost every pregnancy symptom but somehow all the tests showed up BFN. We bought another test today and I'll take it tomorrow, but both SO and I know people who had BFNs over and over when they were pregnant. I even know someone who didn't know she was pregnant until she went to the hospital and was told she was in labour! I don't put all of that much faith in the tests and SO & I are saying I'm pregnant until my AF shows her face no matter how many BFNs we get in the meantime. AF is never late and since starting birth control, it's always forced AF to show up (early or not) within 2-3 days. I stopped taking the pill exactly 3 weeks ago because I had been feeling really nauseous for half a week and didn't want to risk it if I was pregnant.

So my question is, how many times did you get a BFN when you really were pregnant and how far along were you before your BFP finally showed up?

I got a BFN @ 9dpo then a BFP @ 11dpo.

I notice you only stopped the pill 3 weeks ago? Maybe this has got something to do the negative tests? From what I know, your body can take a while to regulate after the pill,so this is possibly what it could be. I hope its not and I hope you are pregnant, but it could well be a possibility?

Early on after I started the pill, I forgot a pill and it forced my period 2 weeks after I'd had my last one. My doctor says that I'm either pregnant and not showing up or for some reason my uterus didn't thicken enough to drop. Every time I switch from my normal pills to the sugar pills, my period starts within 2-3 days so it doesn't make sense that this month it would be affected. And how I have felt the past few weeks, I feel anything but normal and have never felt this way. SO and I would prefer not to have a child at this point, but we both are convinced I'm pregnant and have come to terms with it and are excited. It wasn't planned, but it's (terrifyingly) exciting at the same time!

i got BFN then 2 weeks later BFP, i was actually pregnant when i took first test but for some reason it showed neg?!

my BFP was beofre my period was due , but if you are pg i would think it would def show up on the blood test the dr did as the blood tests are much more accurate than the urine ones.

hey hun not to be negative but i don;t think you should just assume you are until AF comes because IF you aren't, you will be even more disappointed. not saying yr not pregnant just saying!

having said that, i didnt get my bfp until 18 days after i had conceived xo

I got a negative blood test at 5 days late and negative urine tests up to 11 days late. I got my BFP when I was 13 days late for AF...

My dad worked with a lady (can't remember if she was his student or a coworker) who had a blood test that turned out negative and she didn't know she was pregnant until she was ready to give birth. I know they say blood tests are more sensitive than urine tests, but they aren't even fool proof. When I had my blood test I was 5 days late for AF. SO's high school girlfriend didn't find out she was pregnant (even after numerous HPT and a few blood tests) until she was 5 months.
Like I've told SO, if it was just the fact that I am 20 days late for AF then I would ignore it. I've never been more than 2-3 days late but I would just overlook that except for the fact that I feel pregnant and I've been getting so many of the pregnancy symptoms. I've questioned before in the past but I've never felt this pregnant! Believe me, SO has been the one to try and rationalize everything but he's convinced that I'm pregnant. We aren't trying to conceive at this point and it would be so much easier for us if I wasn't pregnant so that we could be more secure before we have another child. This is not something we planned, it's just something that has happened. If I'm not pregnant, we'll be thankful not because we don't want kids, just not right now. We've gotten to a place where we are excited about having a child and we know we'll love this baby and that we can do this, it just happened sooner than we expected.
