When my SIL got pregnant it was like the world was ending for my in-laws. Big deal!!! But believe me, by the time he was born they were 100% on board & have been there every step of the way since.

If so many others thought they would be supportive I would guess once they've had some time to digest it & accept it they'll come around.

In the mean time keep taking good care of yourself!

Sorry to hear the reaction wasn't as you'd hoped.

I remember when my SIL fell pregnant a few years back her dad actually exploded at her (we were there) he told her they were both stupid.

She was in college and living at home and her b/f was living there with her.
I think she terminated that pregnancy herself. I remember walking out to their back garden and seeing her with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other telling me she was having one last party.

Either she's really stupid or that was a well thought out plan. She miscarried a week later and took her place as daddy's little girl once more.

I'm glad that you've chosen to not allow this to affect you. When your parents see how well you're doing they'll soon turn. I think it was just the shock to them. If not then wait till the birth. I've seen many parents turn suddenly after the baby is there.

We all need the support of those around us when things like this happen. I'm glad that your friends, sister and the baby's father are happy for you.

All the best!

may sound harsh but bo**ocks to them nicky.
concentrate on looking after yourself and getting things ready for your lil one.
take the attitude of if they come around they come around no sh*t off your shovel so to speak.
if they come around nice one but if not dont get down over it just remember your going to have a son or daughter soon and he or she will be the center of your universe.
my dad took it not bad as such just asked me about what i was going to do about uni and made me feel like shit when he was askin me where i was going to live and how we are going to afford it etc he didnt react like your parents but he didnt exactly run round whooping and hollering haha. now though theres no stopping him he takes pride in telling people he's going to be a grandad.

it'll all work out just dont stress about it. let them come to you.

Awww bless you hun!. Thats horrible!. But as some of the other girls have said, if they're going to be like that, you dont need them!! You dont need them to stress you out right now!. I'm sure that in time, they'll come round. Hope everything works out for you.
