yes, the shoulder pain that is indicative of an ectopic is usually a localised pain on the shoulder tip.

Having said that, if you are worried, it's always better to be cautious and consult your midwife. A phone call would most probably put your mind at ease.

hi , i just wanted to say although it is likely nothing , please do get checked out ( dont panic , but if you even slightly suspect an ectopic then get looked at for your own piece of mind , if nothing else)
i had an ectopic i got a BFP 6 days before peiod was due, and my hormone levels wernt that low either they were increasing for sure but no where near doubling in 48 hours. if memory serves my first hcg level was around 2000, and the next 48 hours later was 2400

anyway i was very lucky to have been checked out so fast ( within a day of very very light spotting starting - this was the only symptom i had) and they saved the tube , but it could have been such a different story.

anyway, im just saying that if you are worried go get looked at ( i know its scary but it worth it to set your mind at rest / find out what is going on)

no this is more of a general ache through top of arm and shoulder...ill keep eye on it... oh wind? how does that hurt shoulder x
Hi, only just read this post - I haven't had trapped wind since becoming pregnant but have regularly been a sufferer of it. For me it generally is very painful between the ball of shoulder and my torso, it can be quite general around arm area too. My mum used to get it ALOT when she was pregnant with me, she said that the doctors told her to drink a fizzy drink - something about the bubbles pushing the trapped air (although that was a long time ago now! . Maybe you could give it a try. I also used to try to lie down flat on the floor and stretch my arms above my head (seemed to ease a bit), or rotate my shoulder to try to shift it.

Hope this helps, but as suggested - if you are concerned seek some advice because no amount of people sharing their experiences will put you at ease completely.

I had a lot of lower back and shoulder pain early in pregnancy (around the same time as you 4-5 weeks)... but mostly put it down to me having scoliosis (curvature of the spine). It does seem to have eased a lot since then though and aside from the odd ache or pain, im ok now...

I'd say get it checked out to be safe, but you're probably fine. Best of luck hun! x
