How will you handle strangers touching your bump as you begin to show?

OK, I know it is really early to be asking this question but it is something I have been wondering about all morning..

So many women I know who have been been PG talk about these strangers who just walk rght up to you in supermarkets/shopping centres/ etc. and just start touching your belly whilst asking personal questions about your pregnancy and giving their advice.

This is something that will definitely offend me if it happens but I'm not sure how I will react to it.

Have any of you been through it in previous pregnancies?.. did you just let them touch your belly or did you do/say something to let the people know you didn't like it?

Thank you for your answers

i have had couple so far, not strangers as such but people i.e. neighbours that i hardly know! Its strange that they feel the need to touch my bump (which is mainly just fat by the way!!) but i just let them get on with it and then hurry off quickly before they start to ask too much!! Its really funny that by baby is really low down, so where they are touching is just my intestines!! lol!!

Haha yep,

I have just told a friend (who has had a baby) that I'm pregnant... she was pointing to above my belly button and everywhere saying that "the head is here and the bum is probably here" (about 10cm apart) I told her that the baby is the size of a grape and not up that high yet but she wouldn't listen so I let her get on with it and just nodded along

It was easier that way

When I was pregnant with Luke I was HUGE and forever had folk coming up and touching me, or pointing in the street. Thing was, I was like a woman possessed - pure evil lol They would all get a piece of my mind and told not very politely to 'go away'. Hahahaha my poor OH used to walk off too!!

This time round I shall try and bite my tongue and hopefully be able to just walk away.

I would totally do that! It's like when I used to go to out on a Fri/Sat night yrs ago, whenever a guy came and grabbed a boob I used to grab his crotch in a over firm way and they would soon get the picture!!

I think I'll try glaring. If that doesn't work, then I'll just have to go along with the nod and smile approach and hope they leave quickly!
