| Anyone out there with babies around about a 16 month age difference? Whats it like? Hi. We had to take our 8 month old son to the emergency room tonight on advice form our GP - he is fine but had diarrhoea - back to the point - a woman came in and sat down with her two kids - one of which was being a handful . I asked her what the age difference was between them and she said 16months - both boys - one 18months and one 9 weeks.
AND then it hit me - that will be me next year! SHIT - first time I felt worried about whether I can do this! Hubby smiled at me sincerely and said thats what we'll have and looked genuinely happy - I freaked a little !
Does anyone else out there have kids 16 months or there abouts apart and how do you find it - honestly ?!?

| I shall be watching this thread with interest, Mine are going to be 18months apart.
I have a friend who is going to have only a 13 month age gap, and I think knowing that makes me feel a bit less nervous about the 18 months.
Still a bit worrying thou, keep looking out for 18 month olds to see what they are like, to work out how Josh will be when LO arrives. | | | | Status: Online

| There is 17 months between DD and DS and 95% of the time they are the best of friends and get on better than most siblings I know.
There was no jealousy at all when DS was born as he was more in the background really and didnt get any of the attention DD got when we only had her.
So long as DS was clean and fed he was mostly left while I concentrated on DD.
They get along absolutely great. Nothing to worry about at all. I think personally little siblings close in age are very lucky than if one is 5 or 6 and one is a baby (although never having this i may be wrong!). They are much better play mates for each other xxxxx | | | | Status: Offline

| Mine are 18 months apart. My oldest is almost four, Blake. And Marly is 2 and a half. No jealousy when she was born. It really makes you realize just how much an 18 month old can do by himself. Before I had Marly, I did everything for him, but when you have a tiny baby, you just can't, especially when you nurse. Blake seemed so grown up. Now they fight a lot, but they also get a long a lot too. It's about 50/50. I am 6 weeks pregnant with my 3rd, and I tried to get pregnant for the last year, so I was willing to do it again. It's fun. I wouldn't want it any other way. The second child is soooooo much easier too because you realize they aren't as fragile as you thought they were. With the first one you think they are just going to die on you any minute ( at least I did) and with the second, you are so much more relaxed!!! good luck | | | | Status: Offline
