Lovely.
You can go ahead and book a GP appt right now if you like. Some GPs will see you, others won't, it tends to be down to individual surgery policy. They will also get you to book an appt with the surgery mw (if there is one) which can usually be arranged for any time after 7 weeks onwards.
The first scan is arranged for around 12 weeks, give or take a week or two. When you have your first appt with the mw, you will be referred to the hospital and they will either make you the appt right there or (more commonly) you will be sent a letter by post with your scan date.
You can sometimes have an earlier scan (6+ weeks) but this is very rare and usually only offered to those who have had problems with previous pregnancies. You can also pay for a private scan at any time from 6/7 weeks (usually around £100) with somewhere like BabyBond.
Different areas will have different policies, such as what blood tests you get and what they look for in your scan, but I've given the basics. You'll learn more specific info at your booking in appt with the mw.
