That when giving birth you have to take piercings out?

I'm getting close to taking them out anyway, but just curious

I know when my sister in law had her child she did end up having to get her belly button ring cut off. She was about 8 months and she had forgot about it. I can't remember why (this was 8 years ago)I just remember her having to get it cut off. My neice is 7 months pregnant and she still has hers in and I don't think she is planning on taking it out. I don't know if that helps or just confuses you more. Sorry I just firgured I would let you know the VERY little I knew. Good luck!

We believe you

Truthfully, I don't have any piercings other than my ears so I don't know what is expected for belly button rings.

I would think that they would want them taken out but that is certainly something to discuss with your midwife/doctor/gynecologist.

I don't think you have to take them out but it is recommended. I plan on leaving mine in as long as possible. Gonna order one of the plastic ones soon so I don't forget about it. I do think that if you end up having a c-section they will take it out....
