I didnt think it hurt that much actually...even the nurse said that the shot is painful before she gave it to me...

My Twinrix (Hepatitis) vaccines hurt more.

I had a single shot vaccine at the doctors yesterday, apart from a painful arm now, i feel fine. I personally felt it worth while to have the vaccine after all I already have 2 children (from a previous relationship) plus a loving Husband, and felt that their need to have their mother and wife around greatly out weighed any other risk...plus it's only a matter of time til the virus brought home from school?! It's definately a very personal choice.

My best amte is a nurse and she has justhad a huge NHS meeting over the swine flu jab. Basically they will start vaccinating people with underlying health problems first (this is not us) from the 16th Nov, we will be invited to have the jab at the beginning of December. It is up to you if you have it, i personally would not have it in the first Tri. The thing is hard to choose what to do, there is evidence that swine flu is not in anyway harmful to the baby, however pregnant woman are in danger!! There are women dying from this and there babies have been born without their mothers!! On the bad side of the jab.............it does contain a certain amount of mercury!! And as we know, this is harmful to our bumps!! I don't think anyone can choose for anyone else what to do, it is a risk either way! 1:- Do you have the jab and hope that it is safe?? 2:- Do you not have the jab and they risk your child or children being motherless!! Not really a choice anyone can make for anyone else!!
I think that i will probably have it................will probably change my mind 100 times. I just will not have it untill i am definatly past the first Tri.
Sorry to be so blunt about the whole thing, i just feel it is a personal choice and a bloody hard one.
It is VERY similar to the other flu jabs pregnant women have been having for years, and that has never harmed anyone. However it does have Mercury in unlike the other vaccines.......................apparently?? This is just what has been said to me xx

Roughly what area of the world do you live in? The Department of Health in the UK have made it clear that both vaccines are safe for all pregnant women in all trimesters. If you live in the UK, I'd be interested to know why your doctor thinks they are more qualified to advise on this than the experts who work for the Department of Health. Do you know if your doctor has specialist training in vaccines and/or where they got their information from?
