HCG Testing....

Hi Ladies!

Does anyone know if you can just request your GP (in the UK) to check your HCG levels?? or do they need a 'reason'?

I have an appointment for an early scan a week on monday and I really would like to know if my HCG is going up before then.

Or is there a test you can do yourself?

Thanks in advance.
x

In saying that, are you going to an Early Pregnancy Unit? If you are concerned, you could ask for a blood test to be done for reassurance. No harm in asking!

I think on the NHS they'd need a reason to do it but some GP's are quite flexible.

Are you worried about something???

I'm worried that mine are low also as i havent had much nausea and only been sick twice. Last couple of days i have felt 'normal' with the odd boob pain here and there.

i had mine taken because of the funny dates i had and the twinges i was having. but i think unless you are having problems they will leave you alone. i have only gone to the epfae unit at the hospital (will be test number 4 on saturday). give your unit a ring directly if you have anything to worry about cramps spotting etc and they will sort you out without havign to go to your GP. hopefully you wil have better luck than me.... :-)

Well, I'm probably worrying over nothing - my levels were 2640 at 4 weeks + 4 days - I just really want reassuring as we all do I suppose. I've had cramps/twinges/backache but no sickness and my boobs have stopped tingling.
Anyway I went to the Drs after I posted and he was lovely and they've tested HCG and B12/iron levels as I'm borderline anaemic and a veggie too!! Should have news on monday.
