I had really severe morning sickness from week 5 to 18, when it got to the stage i couldnt keep water down i was prescribed Stemitil (Prochlorperazine).

I was really worried about taking them but reassured by several doctors that it was fine to take, and although nothing is 100% safe its all about weighing up the risks and benifits to mother and baby.

Id be interested to find out any info or anyone else who has been prescribed this.

This may sound like a silly question to ask but is it normal not to get morning sickness? My gf is almost 7 weeks from date of last period and is getting a few symptoms but no sickness. Or is she jus too early on?

Hey i think it completley depends, on the person.

I had really severe sickness 24/7 up until 18 weeks, yet my friend who is also pregnant and only a week behind me has never felt or been sick

My doc also told me that just because you have morning sickness in one pregnancy, doesnt mean you will have it in your next.

Think every pregnancy is just different

I was prescribed this as well hun. It really helps, but I do worry about it's effects on baby, although I have also been reassured that it is fine. My doc also said it is about weight up the risks and benefits and I too couldn't keep anything down xx

I'm seven weeks tomorrow. Was just starting to get my head around the whole pregnancy thing when the day before I reached 6 weeks I was began throwing after eating, it got rapidly worse to the point on the sixth day I wasn't able to keep anything down and was feeling faint and dizzy.
I got to see the doctor on the sixth day and was so drained from throwing up repeatedly in the waiting room every 3 minutes I was just crying at the thought that there would be nothing he could do and I would have to continue staying of work with a bin/bucket permanently attached to my side for the next 6weeks or even the whole pregnancy.
Neither my sister nor my twin were given a relief from their morning sickness but from what I've now heard they were at least able to keep down one type of food and fluid.

The doctor has put me on prochlorperazine twice a day and these are a god send. I still have moments where I feel nauseous but I haven't been sick. A bit of gipping today at lunch when laughing with the boyfriend but no actual vomiting. I run out tomorrow (friday) but can't see my doctor again until monday and even then I don't know if he'll continue to prescribe them, I'm hoping he does because I can't go back to how it was before even if it was only six days.

I have found though that after the tablet dissolves fully I start to feel pretty rough and have to have a lay down. has anyone else noticed this when taking the tablets?
