Well I finally told my dad last night I was expecting and I got the slight pause and then the almightly laugh and whoop and giggle and said it was the best news he'd had in ages. You could say my dads happy!!! Tried to get hold of my mum but she didn't get my texts saying I needed to speak to her so she still doesn't know. I'm just hoping that my aunt (who my dad told) doesn't ring her up, even though she's knows I want to tell her and ends up spilling. I wouldn't put it past her!!!

Anyway, after the successful scan of yesterday, I think my peanut is now called blob, but blob was beautiful and it's heart beating away. Absolutely weird me being the one on the table and that beating blob is in me!!!! Didn't feel real. Anyway, doc has told me to now take 2 folic acid in the morning and 2 in the evening along with continuing with the mulit vits that lready have folic a in them. Can you over do taking folic A? Can't wait to get my next scan in a months time, see if what blob loks like. I'm hoping we may be able to tell the sex by then. Do you think that will be possible at 13 weeks?

congrats and thats great everything went well the sex can't be seen till round 20 weeks 18 at the earliest so you'll have to be a bit patient lol good luck

The reason I mentioned sexing at 13 weeks is because in a book my sister gave me, which isn't that old, the woman writing said her friend was lucky that they sexed the baby at 12 weeks!!!!! I certainly didn't think this possible, but kinds got me hoping that maybe things had changed. Not to worry, I can wait for the right time.

i was put on a higher dose of folic acid than i expected - 1.2mg a day. I dont think we can overdo it unless we take like huuuge amounts. apparently our bodies can easily lose it.

Well it's official, the family knows. Finally got hold of my mum last night and she told me she had had some very bad and sad news, wanted to be there to give her a hug. So I told her and she was soooooooooo happy. She said she needed that. Her friend had just called round and she said I hope she tells me she's pregnant!!!!! How weird, mothers intuition?? Anyway, we chatted for a while. Of course she wrote down everything the doctor had given me, including the pregnyl 5000 (I knew she'd do that!) and is going to ask her doctor friend about it. Bless her.

Then 2 minutes after getting off the phone with mum, my sister rang. She's so chuffed. IN fact her and my other sister were just saying the other day how they will have to have a clear out of baby stuff as they are both over run. Of course I said pass it all on my way thank you very much!!!

Just have to pray now that the next 7 months go well, now I know my family know and I have their support, I want this more than ever. Gonna be a very tough year but it will be well worth it, can't wait
