lower back/hip pain

For a few days now I've been having sharp twinges at the base of my spine and back of my pelvis, usually when I'm walking. I also have some discomfort when sitting down. Has anyone had similar? I'm not sure if it's related to being pregnant, or just coincidence that it's started now? I know back problems are common later on but I'm only 9 weeks!

Any advice greatly appreciated!

don;t remember having this in my other pregnancies but that doesn't mean i didn't have it.

My lower back and my hips are reeaallly achey. I get sharp pains in my hips and in my bum, lol where the hip is connected to the pelvis. It really hurts. Ive been alternating between ice and heat to help it, but it only does so much.

during my pregnancy with DS i had SPD a pelvic seperation thing where the hormone 'relaxin' was too high in my body and my pelvis was seperating too much and too early. as a result i couldnt hardly walk by about 30 weeks... i started noticing bad symptoms at 16 weeks... now this time around iv already got bad symptoms....

some other symptoms are extreme pain rolling over in bed, clicky or very painfull hips and pelvis... sore back and pelvis after standing or walking for too long, bad sciatica pain etc.... i hope this helps There is no cure, the only thing that helps is when the baby is born and even then it takes a few weeks to months to recover!!! you can buy a pregnancy belt that holds your pelvis together but it is very annoying to wear... this time i am going to regularly see a physio, hope it helps me cos it gets really really bad...

I was going to say to keep an eye on that pain as it sounds like the start of spd. I also suffered with it in all of my pregnancies, I was in agony with my last one. I would speak with the Dr or midwife about this, they will then possibl refer you to a physio who will give you exercises to do, I am supposed to be doing mine now, but havent started yet, but then, I am not having any problems yet either. Keep an eye on it and see how it is......

Yep- I have this already as well. It didn't happen last time until the 2nd tri. Get yourself a pregnancy pillow. It will really help!

Thanks everyone. I had read about spd but was hoping this was something else! I'll mention it to the midwife at my next appointment and get it checked out
