Flying


Hi all

Im going to be going away with work in April to Geneva. I will be 13 weeks preganant , is this an ok time to fly? Will i need a letter from doctor and do i need to take out special travel insurance?
Any advise would be helpful

No you won't need a letter from your GP or special insurance! - Its only in the last trimester that Airlines get twitchy about pregnant women flying.

-Its safe to fly, just drink plenty of water to keep hydrated and get up and move around whenever possible to avoid DVT.

Thanks , i hate flying as it is so not really looking forward to this trip at all.
Unfortunately i cant avoid it so will have to grin and bear it ! x

Awww hopefully it will be a quick and troublefree flight in perfect flying weather! - Am I right in thinking the flight to Geneva is around 50 mins, so hopefully not a bad flight?

i wantedto go away at week 30 for an overseas flight and the doctor said it was fine. if its a long flight just walk around a bit so your feet dont swell.

From Manchester to Geneva its about an hour and half i think so not too far.
Havent told work yet im pregnant so they may actually decide not to send me yet ! Fingers crossed

I'm due to fly when I'm 10 weeks from the UK to LA - 11 hours ish. I've been told just to make sure if you have annual insurance tha it covers pregnancy but other than that just as Rachie says, water and movea bout as you should on any long haul flight.
