one week of intense morning sickness, then nothing?

i had one week of seriously intense morning sickness - non-stop nausea, vomiting, couldn't keep anything down except water, couldn't sleep, it was so bad my doctor gave me anti-nausea pills. they helped ease the nausea and within 3 days of taking them, my morning sickness became far less intense and then suddenly stopped. i stopped taking the anti-nausea pills and the morning sickness was still gone. i feel almost totally back to normal again.

i know it probably sounds very silly to worry but is it normal to just have one week of intense morning sickness and vomiting, then it suddenly stops? i thought morning sickness was supposed to last for weeks. is this normal for it to stop after only a week? i'm just paranoid because this is my first pregnancy and i don't want anything to happen to my little foetus.

As I have been told, everyone is different. I had mc last year so I am totally paranoid about all symptoms disappearing. I woke with no symptoms at all last week, got myself in a right state, boobs weren't hurting at all, no sickness (although I never threw up), so went for a scan and all was well.

My sickness has not been so bad this last week, although it tends to come in waves like when you have a hangover, all of a sudden I get the sickly feeling for a few minutes then it goes. This morning, felt sickly, had cornflakes, feel good now. I'm off food rather than feeling sick, never know what to make to eat, I know I have to eat but what!!!!

I suggest, if you start getting no symptoms at all over a period of a few days, then for piece of mind, go see your doc.

that's quite interesting charlie, perhaps what happens if that morning sickness doesn't go away but you become more in tune with what your body needs so you kind of treat the nausea before it has a chance to get really bad, ie, your body begins to realise it needs to eat when you get that tinge of nausea, and eating stops it getting worse? or maybe the hormones flood a womans system in bursts so the nausea isn't constant all the time?

my boobs still ache (especially after getting up from lying down, they feel really sore then!).

Hello,

I have experienced similar. I had shocking nausea from week 4 to week 6.5 but now I know that I have to eat smaller portions and defo not miss breakfast and now I feel fine. I think its about finding what your body wants for some ladies. Occasionally if I havent eat for aq while I feel sick but I know then that I need to eat something light.

Take care

Hi

I was intensly sick for a week also then it stopped, but every now and then i'm sick when i wake up but nothing like that week. the doc said it can last from one week to a few, with the average being two weeks, like everyone says all women are different, but if you are unsure go and see your doc!
