Im going for my 4th Vbac,... it all depends on what the reasons were for your c-section. I wasn't scared when I tried for my 1st vbac, I was determined! And I did it, same dr that did my c-sec, lol he remembered me, and said, oh, youre trying this again, remember how it ended up last time,.. which made me even more determined to prove him wrong.

well i was in labor 2 days and then had to end up having section cause i wouldn't dilate over a cm and a half...i had to get induced 3 weeks early cause of blood pressure....i already talked to the dr before i started trying and he said i could most likely have a vbac...i'm just scared of being in labor for so long again just to have a c section

I admit to the fact i'm too scared to have a vbac this time around, the last labour was so stressful i cant remember the last 6 hours of it (i was in labour for 2days) and i know what i am like, il be panicing the same thing will happen this time as what happened to sophie. Talked it all over with my midwife and she said it was completly understandable after what i was put through.

I do think tho if i had a c section with sophie due to exhaustion or labour just taking too long like my friend then i would go for vbac.

My labour with my 1st was 56 hrs, I pushed for 3 hrs, then the dr said my pelvis was too small for the baby to pass through. During the c-section, they had to suction him out of the birth canal cuz he was so far down and got stuck. I still, tried vbac for the 2nd, the biggest prob was I wouldnt fully dialate. I got to 9 1/2 cm, and they refused to let me push till I was complete. Finally I was and pushed her out in 5 minutes. Total labour was 12 hrs. My 3rd labour, same thing, only got to 9 1/2cm, but the dr at least pushed the 'lip' away and let me push. That labour was 8 hrs. My 4th labour, well, I was 2 weeks late, so they broke my water to get labour started, since they can't induce if you had a c-sec. They broke my water at 8:15pm. and my baby girl was born at 10:44pm! Yup, 2 1/2 hrs total labour and pushing. So, it doesn't really matter what your cervix does or doesn't do for one labour, then next one is a totally different experiance!

Good luck, I hope your vbac is successful!!!

I am planning to try for a VBAC this time. Last time my water broke. 18 hours later I still hadn't dilated past 2 cm, so my doctors talked me into a c-section. (This was after 12 hours of pitocin also). I was contracting every minute, but the contractions were not helping me dilate.

I already spoke to my doc. She said I can try but she thinks its "less than favorable". She doesn't think I'll dilate again this time. I hope to prove her wrong!

Right now I am reading up. It is a pretty scary decision, but so is choosing to have another c-section. Labor is scary no matter what I think....

So far I have read 1 book. Waiting for another to come in the library....
