First appointment with midwife at 11 weeks - is that late?

Last night I went to my doctors to tell them I was pregnant. After taking my blood pressure and going through a couple of things she explained that I needed to make a booking in appointment with the midwife for a couple of weeks time as I am currently 6 weeks.

When I asked the receptionist to book me an appointment with the midwife she gave me 16th November so by then I would be 11 weeks, is this not a bit late as I thought (and the doctor said) it should be around 8 or 9 weeks.

I’m not sure if I should ring back and see if I can get an earlier appointment or if I should just leave it as it is. What do you think?

That seems to be the norm these days. I didn't have mine till 10+6.

Some don't give you an appointment until after your 12 week scan!

I had my booking in at 12wks and at the appt my scan was booked for the following week.

I think its best to leave appts til later - think it makes the time go by quicker!

I have seen my midwife already, she came out to me when I was 6 weeks, but I think they do this cause the scan appointments can take a while to come out to you. But apart from that I wont see her now till I am 16 weeks ish lol, that cause they will be notified how the scan went........

I've got my first appointment in half an hour and I'm 5+2 - to be honest I was surprised they wanted to see me this early! I have to admit that I am excited tho!!
