Is it ok to have sex?

Hi , may seem like a silly question but is it ok to have sex in the first 3 months? I read somewhere you cant and keep having really strange dreams about it, woke up in a state this morning as i had sex in dream and i lost baby! My OH is getting quiet frustrated as i keep turning him down and i think he thinks im over reacting. Am i ?!?

Help ! Thanks xxxxxxxx

Yep you certainly can. The only time you should avoid sex during pregnancy is if your doctor recommends it. They usually do this if you have suffered recurrent miscarriages or if there is any other reason they think your cervix might be weak.

I agree with the others - as long as it's comfortable for you baby is safe. Your doctor or midwife may tell you to stop though if you have any problems.

We had sex yesterday, should have read this before hand!!! Had a blighted ovum last year. No pain, no bleeding, hope everything is ok!! Think we both made the most of the fact that I woke up feeling fine!!!

I asked my doctor about this yesterday and she said it's absolutely fine - unless there is bleeding afterwards. I am nervous to do it too but I have been assured it's perfectly fine.

It is perfectly fine

Women with any history of miscarriage are advised against mainly in the first trimester and like others have said any signs of bleeding then you should stop there.

It mainly about how comfortable you are having sex whist pregnant

I was told to abstain ( makes me sound like a nun ) as I've bled for 2 weeks, but on my check up after the 2 weeks, they sai go for it, but nothing to rough. I sadi 'tell that to the hubby, he's gone without for 2 weeks !!!
As it turned out, I was just too nervous, and not in the mood, so DH didn't pressure me or anything, and said to wait til I was ready (bless'im).
To be honest, I don't think I will be comfortable until 12 weeks.
I'm always worried that the contractions of orgasm will do harm, which I've asked about, and they said that actually the baby enjoys the massaging feeling !!! Feels a bit wrong to know your bean is also enjoying the bedroom fun

And, from behind is a good one, as you have more control over how deep it goes, and belly doesn't get in the way Plus, if you suffer from SPD like me, you don't have to spread you legs too much.

Thats my few little thoughts on the matter
