Doppler hire

I asked in my 12 week scan where the placenta was and was told it was at the front, so am thinking of getting a doppler to hear the hearbeat seeing as I won't feel the baby for quite some time yet.

I am too tight to hire a doppler but would like to try one for a month so am going to hire one

Anyone hired one and where from? How much did it cost? Was it worth it?

Hi. I've hired mine from here:

http://www.hi-baby.co.uk/acatalog/doppler_rental.html

I've found it very good and it came the next day when I ordered it, and picked up the heartbeat from just under 10 weeks. It's on a month to month basis so gonna send it back when I can feel baby kicking.

They are not that expensive to buy. I wanted to hire but its cheaper in the long run.

Mines is a babysounds doppler (type b) and was 35 pound and came with the gel (from amazon). Its amazing! I got mine at 12 weeks and still use it often.

I have an anterior placenta and although I can feel baby its not as often as I'd like, so having a doppler is really handy for those quiet days!

What? I have never heard of this. You can basically rent a doppler to keep track of the baby's heart? That's so cool! Do a lot of women do this? What is the benefit besides constantly knowing your baby has a heartbeat? What if, God for bid, you don't hear a heartbeat, then do you call your doctor? and then what?

Please fill me in. I am very interested in getting one.
