Pregnancy and tattoos

Hi

This is really a question for those who have already had a child! I have had 2 but since then i had a tattoo done on my belly to the right hand side of my belly button, now with my other preganacies i was young and lucky that i only ever got about 2 stretch marks on my belly (my legs and bum got hit worse) but i'm worried that maybe the tattoo will never be the same again! your thoughts and experiences on this would be greatly appreciated!

Depends on your skin type hun. I have a tat on my thigh that i got done when i was young, childless, and super skinny. Its a dolphin but i must admit it looks more like a whale now pmsl. Pregnancy isn't good for tattoo's specially on the belly unfortunately xx

Yeah I think it just depends on your skin type really, there's no way of telling. A friend of mine has a massive tattoo that goes almost from hip to hip across her stomach, and it's pretty much fine now...another wasn't so lucky!

I dread to think what mine will be like, I have stars from my hip to below my boobs lol, and writing under my bellybutton, and a Snoopy on my other hip, ah well, I wont care if they get ruined!!!

Haha sounds like me, I have one that goes from under my boobs to just above my navel, and cherries on each hip, I think they're probably gonna look more like melons or something!

I have 5 tattoo's including one on my boobie

and one on my lower back

The one on my lower back has stayed the same after having aiden it did look a little stretched when i was heavily pregnant though but has pinged back too normal, and the heart on my boobie

has never looked stretched and still looks fab and thats after going up a whole cup size being pregnant and i am about to go up another cupsize again with this pregnancy and it still looks fab! xx

Just wanted to say thanks to all! i suppose i'm gonna have to wait and see! like you Lizzie_moon, i don't think it'll be the end of the world if it never looks quite the same again! Thanks again! although what about belly button piercing!! will i have to take it out?!!!!!!

My belly tattoo still looks okay but I have a full chest piece that got slightly stretched. Genetics play a huge part I think.

You can get preggo belly bars, so best to switch to one of those as your normal bar/ring will not be big enough to cope with the stretching xx

my tattoo on my stomach went rather large and it seems bigger now but i like it that way

does seem like it needs filling in but i dont know if that is cos its quite old now or if tis from stretching.
