Totally sympathise. Fybrogel is great and totally fine for us to have. Honestly works wonders. Guessing you might be in the US (restroom...) but I'm sure you must have it or it's equivalent. I would *definitely* recommend it xxx

Apples! They can work miracles, and are often quite good for staving off morning sickness as well. Get a bag of apples with some nice crispy skin (that's where all the fiber is after all) and work your way through it. May help a lot!

Are you taking a prenatal vitamin with iron in it? I was and think that was causing my insane constipation. I stopped that one and am now just taking folic acid and omega 3. I might try out another prenatal with a gentler form of iron in it (i.e. chelated). During the time I was constipated I used Lactulose and that sorted me out! Good luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that! It must be miserable! I take a "green food vitamin" and it seems to work wonders! Good luck!

Hi there, I totally know how you feel and applaud you for having the courage to bring this up. I am sure so many other women have experienced this and were too embarassed to bring this up.

First things first, you may be getting piles. Getting Hemorroids (sp?) during pregnancy is very common and is usually the result of constipation. To ease the pain, I recommend buying a gel called "Preperation H". You put it on your "sore area" after each bowel movement. Honestly, it soothes it very well and eases the pain. It is an off the shelf medicine so you don't need to go docs for this, just go to Asda chemist and buy it. Thats what I did.

Secondly, up your intake of fibres. This will help loosen your stools. Loose stools means its easier for you to poo and thus less likely for you to bleed.

Eat wheetabix, shreddies etc. Plenty of fruits and ofcourse continue your water intake.

If this persists, I recommend you consult your doc or maybe your MW.

Edit: The gel will not get rid of the problem; it just eases the pain.
Good Luck hun.
