Water Infection

Hello all

Got a call from the doctor this morning to say my urine test has come back with a water infection. I was walking to work so couldn't hear her that well and didn't have time to talk but is there any danger to the baby or potential problems? She's given my penicillin which I have started taking now.

HAve had a few pains recently so I think it explains that at least.

Am 11 weeks...

hey hun i had a urine infection last week and omg the pain i was in with it! anyways i spoke it over with the doc n she said the anti biotics she gave me were safe to take..forget the name of them tho but she told me not to worry xx

i was given penicillin for a slight water/ bladder infection by the hospital on sat. i have to take it for 5 days, the doctor said it was fine.

hey , im the same i got a call from my doctor telling me i had a water infection too, im not in pain tho

im on Amoxicillin tablets, aparently there completely safe. i have to go back in 2 weeks with a water sample to check it has cleared up.. i think water infections are common in pregnancy xx

Thank you all... COuldn't find anything about it in my baby books! Am also on Amoxicillin so sure all we good...

Hello,

I am 8 weks pregnant.
I went to see my doctor yesterday because I got some blood in my urine. He said I would need to have a urine Test.
I could not wait, I was worried, I went to the Emergency yesterday evening, the doctor was really nice and I had a urine infection! He gave me antibiotics, and he said he would not hurt the baby. But if you wait too long with a urine infection, it can harm the baby!! So be carefull!

I was given antibiotics today for a UTI as well, but they are not amoxicillan which is what most ladies seem to get precribed. Dr assured me they are safe in pregnancy but I'm terrified taking them!

Snap -

i went to the docs last thursday and the doc did a test saying there was no infection but she would send a sample away to make sure and for me to phone back today for results,

anyways, i got a phone call today saying that the prescription i had been given (i actually hadn't been given 1) that i was to stop taking them and start on a new course of antibiotics!

am not impressed at all!
