Hi , hope someone can help !!!

Im 4 weeks pregnant and its still secret but ive got a family party on saturday night, i need a good excuse to give people for not drinking alcohol !! (I would usually be the first to the bar lol.....)

Do you drive? I always say I can't drink because I'm driving. Also another good one is that you're on antibiotics for something because you can't drink on them. Or you have to get up early in the morning because you're going out. Or you have a bit of a headache and you don't want to make it worse?

Can you tell I'm still hiding mine aswell?

The best excuse to use is that you are on anti biotics because you have had a head cold...or something, maybe a tummy bug? You can't drink when on anti biotics xx

Ummm I don't know your situation at all, but is your SO/Hubby going? If so, make him NOT drink with you, then if anyone asks tell them either you both decided to stop drinking together, or that you're on a bet to see who can not drink the longest? (Or maybe just say you feel sick). Come up with something stupid, it'll be the most believable LOL! Good luck!

I agree the antibiotics one is a good idea, or you could say you've already had a heavy night of it the night before and can't face it. That or if it's a bar you could get your OH to buy you the drinks all night and get alcohol free beer, or orange or coke and just pretend it's got alcohol in it. Drink it slowly and just refuse others offers of a drink.

I used to do this on nights out even before I was pregnant if people were pressuring me into having more to drink than I wanted.

Its so hard keeping quiet isnt it ?! Whens best to tell family? 10 or 12 weeks maybe? Im so close to my mum and i feel like im lying to her, she is desperate for a grandchild too

I told my mum straight away and had told most people by 9 weeks including work couldn't keep my mouth shut.lol

I was gonna try and keep it to myself until mothers day and tell her then, thought it would be a nice surprise !!
My OH mum lives in Germany and is over at Easter so will tell her then, best doing it to her face we feel.
