Newbie with a question

Hi I've just found out that my husband and I are expecting our first baby, which we are really excited about. I'm not really sure how far along I am (i think about 6 weeks), and I was wondering if it is ok to wait till my first appointment with my OBGYN in march or should I be going to get blood work done/ultrasound now to get a forsure timeline?
thanks for any info!!!

They'll probably send you for a dating scan if you're unsure. Don't panic if you're not certain of your dates right now, just relax and enjoy xx

Congrats and Welcome! I would call and let them know that you got a BFP and see what they want to do.

Welcome to the forum! Another Canadian! Personally I called my GP right away, she did a medical history on me and my husband, gave us a list of dos and don'ts, and sent me for blood work. In addition she set up at 10 week appointment for me and after that she referred me to an OB. I would go ahead and call so you can get things set up......the bloodwork, possibly a dating scan etc.

the thing is, is that i dont have a family doctor. so i went to the womens clinic where they confirmed a positve test and then reffered me to an OB. I have my first app with them on march 6 and then i have an ultrasound sch. for march 20, do i still need to go before that date for an ultrasound or can i wait?

You will probably be fine with that date, I know that my OB wouldn't see me before 12 weeks (ended up seeing them around 13 weeks). Did the women's clinic give you all the information for the Triple testing (for downs syndrome, etc.)? Because if you do opt to have that done I believe they want you in before the 12 week mark.
