I'm Currently Feeling: | I was going to post about this yesterday. Occasionally I get this and I struggle to move my leg and there's shooting pain in my bum cheek. I don't know what it is but I just wanted to say I've been having it too |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sounds like a touch of sciatica, which is quite common in pregnancy, as he nerves in the lower back and hips can get aggravated by the weight of babe, or just the moving around of everything. A good chyropractor can help with this if it persists by helping to realign everything. If the pain is right 'in ya bits', and you feel a clunking at the bottom of your back or hips, it could be the start of Symphisis Pubis Dusfunction, which isn't dangerous at all, but can get very painful if you don't see a physio at the first signs... I had that with both of mine... gets progressively worse with each pregnancy... so in about 6 weeks, I'm gonna be on crutches !!
Congrats, and have a good one xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sounds like it could have been the uterus pushing your poo into your back and trapping a nerve.... If it went away after you'd been to the loo.
Oh the joys of being a woman |

I'm Currently Feeling: | definitely sciatica. it was KILLING me up until my 6 month of pregnancy.
it was really unbearable.
i purchased a mommy belt and back brace which held my pelvis in place and didn't allow for the nerve to be pinched.
knock on wood, it hasn't bugged me since. |

Oh the joys of being a woman | sorry only went toilet for no.1 hehe oh the things we pregnant women talk about!
I did some googling and came to the conclusion it must be my sciatic nerve...I had really bad lower back and slight sciatica in 1st pregnancy, so probably going to suffer with it again....and I have an active job I work in a busy restaurant so its not going to be any fun if it does get bad...at the moment it is bearable.
I dont get it though I am only 9 weeks almost its not like there is any weight on my uterus really?!?
It makes sense though as Iv been gettin pins and needles in that whole leg in the night...I guess thats todo with it, the whole leg goes numb.
Thanks for the warning anne-marie....my friend is suffering with SPD and taken her maternity leave early ebcuase of it, it seems really painful! is it linked to sciatica becuase she had that too |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i posted the same topic weeks ago because i've been having that since i was 5 weeks pregnant and now i'm 12 weeks. i have it when i lie down or sometimes when i walk but it's only in the bump cheeky not down to the legs. i talked to my doctor and he said it's the muscles not the nerve so it's nothing to worry, unless the pain goes down to your legs then it's more concern. | | | | Status: Offline
