can anyone give me some advise pls?

HI, im hoping someone will be able to give me a bit of advise. I did a few home tests just over a week ago, all 5 came back positive so i went to see my nurse who did a blood test, i got the result last wed and my levels were 342, i was told i needed another test this week as my Dr wont confirm the pregnancy until levels reach 5000. I went today for my bllod test and the nurse explained that its just to check that the levels are rising and not that the tests came back positive because i had been pregnant but lost the baby. This has really worried me as everything has seemed fine, is this normal?

hey chick

iv nerver heard your gp/nurse wont confirm preg until your over 5000 thats unreal
How far gone should you be
You bleeding or cramping?

i went to Gp when i was almost 5 wks preg , test confirmed
so i got bloods done, the levels was 372
I then had more bloods done at 5+2 and the levels was 2,500 and the next day there were 4,800 and then they started rising faster at the 6wk mark

I was treated as ''pregnant'' with my levels at 372

HcG can rise slow, and end up been a perfect pregnancy, am proof of this with this baby.!!

it seems quite strange to me too, ive been reading up about levels and 5000 seems quite high, ive had no bleeding or cramps so just assumed everything was fine. ive got to ring tomorrow afternoon for the results so im hoping the gch has increased enough for the dr to confirm the pregnancy. a week ago they were 342 so roughly what should they be a week later? im trying not to worry but its hard after what the nurse said x

If i was you i wouldnt worry too much about the Levels
my levels were 372 as i said at jus under 5wk and at 5+3 they were 4,800
Mine were on the low side they said but they said that can be very normal
that it differs from woman to woman but tat i was still PREGNANT..
they wernt concerned at the rate they were rising ...
they were happy enough at 5+3 and them been 4,800
and this was the doctor in the hosp at early pregnany unit
so i dont understand how your doc sayin she wont confirm until 5000+
thats jus madness

How far gone should you be?

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml
* These numbers are just a GUIDELINE-- every woman’s level of hCG can rise differently. It is not necessarily the level that matters but rather the change in the level.

What can a low hCG level mean?
A low hCG level can mean any number of things and should be rechecked within 48-72 hours to see how the level is changing. A low hCG level could indicate:

Miscalculation of pregnancy dating
Possible miscarriage or blighted ovum
Ectopic pregnancy

What can a high hCG level mean?
A high level of hCG can also mean a number of things and should be rechecked within 48-72 hours to evaluate changes in the level. A high hCG level can indicate:

Miscalculation of pregnancy dating
Molar pregnancy
Multiple pregnancy

so depeding on rather your in your 4th or 5th week this is the doctors levels they go by in hospitals early pregnancy unit...

4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

i was shown this chart by the doc in EPU and told not to worry that all can be normal even with my Levels of Hcg...and he was right..baby still doing great ...

all i can say is just relax hun and wait for the results...
your doctor shudnt be saying they wont confirm until over 5000 thats just madeness..

Best of luck hun xx
