one-sided cramps

Ever since I got my bfp I have been having mild cramps mainly on my right hand side in one particular area. Now I read up about ectopic and I'm really worried it could be potentially that. Any experiences with that or has anyone have similar symptoms to me and it's been fine?

Thanks so much.

I had exactly the same 2 pregnancies ago at around 5 weeks, and they sent me in for a scan. Turned out I had a cyst on my ovary which was huge! I think it's called a luteal cyst, it was the ovary I released the egg from that month. Totally normal tho, so it could well be the same. As long as you don't have any bleeding, I wouldn't worry just yet. If it gets so you can't breathe or stand, then get phoning!!! xxx

Thanks. I'm seeing my gp tomorrow anyway...so will mention it then and hopefully they'll tell me more, but just want to put my mind at rest for now. The cramps aren't really painful, but distinctly on one side only.

Hey Fluffpuffin :-)

I've been having some shooting cramps on my right lower side from very very early pregnancy. . .It has now slightly got better but I've still got it in my mind!

Lets hope its perfectly normal! :-)

Good luck with your appointment!

I have this alot even before i was pregnant. seeing as i only have one tube and the pain was on that side i was convinced i was having an ectopic but had private scan last week and all is well (touch wood!) to be honest i dont think you would be getting pain this early from ectopic, apparently they are usually discovered between weeks 8 and 10 due to pain. A friend of mine was having an ectopic pregnancy and didnt find out she was pregnant until gone 8 weeks.
Definately mention it to your doc but i do think its completely normal. The pain is severe with ectopic.
good luck
xx

I have the same thing. I used to get the pain when ovulating. I spoke to the EPU this morning and they have booked me in for an early scan on Wednesday morning - scared out of my wits.

apparently with an ectopic when you get pain its really really severe- my friend suddenly got pain- got it chekd and had to go into surgery the next day she was in that much pain. I had cramping on one side- it was just everything adjusting for baby. If it is really bad pain get it checked out by your doctor hun. I do hope everything is ok 4 u x
