how many of you tell before 3 months?

Hi there. This is my first post.

Im currently 7 weeks preg and cannot wait to share the news with family.

So I was wondering how many of yous actually wait the 3 months before saying anything?

P.S. is it bad luck to tell others before 3 months?

Thanks

Teel

I told my family and close friends right away, other people (work, friends) I waited until after my first scan was done. I think that the reason a lot of women wait until after the first trimester is that the risk of miscarriage is very high (more so during the other trimesters) and most don't want to have to tell people that they miscarried.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Personally we didn't. We told immediate family at about 6 weeks and i had to tell my employers at 9 weeks. Don't think it's bad luck i had a previous MC when i only told my mum and DH's mum. So i don't think it makes all that much difference it's just whatever you are comfortable with. I knew my family would support me if i MC again.

Hi,

I told family at about 8 weeks then friends then work at about 11 weeks. It's so hard keeping it a secret isn't it?

We told our parents right away and some close aunts, I also told a few co-workers when I found out. Told everyone else when I was closer to 3 months

I told my friends/college tutor at 6 weeks. But that was just because I couldn't keep it in any longer because the circumstances that I'm in I found it very hard to cope. I was very nervous and not myself because I had no idea what I was going to do then felt alot better after telling friends. A few of them ended up telling other people which I am very disappointed about as I told them what's happening and how am I worried about a m/c.

I told my Mum a couple of days after telling friends, which I really regret because she's alot more supportive than them well majority of them are supportive the others are just a bit of liking to gossip a bit much.

I'm 9 weeks today, so hopefully my little Noodle is happy in their and holding on .

I told everyone I was pregnant when I was just 4 weeks, apart from my nan and grandad. So I doubt it's bad luck

We told most people at about 6 weeks, because they were starting to guess. And they would support us if a MC happened (which hasnīt thankfully).

I think it is a personal choice. I could not keep my mouth shut about it, everyone knew within the first week.
