I only told people after 12 weeks but only because I wasn't really sure what I was going to do before that. Then when I had my scan and my mum found out me and my OH told our close family and friends. I havn't quite got round to tell my college or work yet, I guess if I'm honest I'm kind of putting it off. But I'm going to have to soon as bump is growing!! lol

Thanks everyone for your replies, so overall all of you told close family and some friends quite early on. Im really itching to tell my mum and dad mainly and my parents in law. I am really excited to see their reaction.

I just had it in my head that it was bad luck to tell, but i think i heard that years ago and just stuck, but i guess its not

I will chose not to tell friends and collegues until i have my scan. That way I get to be all excited again when i tell them and it keeps me in suspense to see their reaction hehe

I cant wait now!!

hi i told every one as soon as i found out i was about 7 weeks. its a very big secret to keep to your self . i would have never been able to eep it to my self congrats and welcome

I told before 12 weeks in both cases, I was too excited to keep my mouth shut!

I think it is only bad luck to tell if you are supersticious - personally, I like to keep buying to a minimal until after the 12 week scan. x

Hiya, yeh im finding it harder and harder and see myself looking at the calender and counting down the weeks until i can officially scream out loud the big news. I say to myself, we're into feb now and its a short month, so it will fly by.....hehe

I told my mum, grandma and OH's parents when I found out for sure at 5 weeks but waited till 14 weeks to tell everyone else because I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks earlier that year and was afraid bump wasn't going to stick it out. But luckily he has and the day I hit 14 weeks I told the world

Horrorheart- awww thats such a nice ending to it. It mustve been even more special for you to tell everyone and anyone who would listen Thats what id be like, il grab random strangers and tell them! lol

i told everyone as soon as i knew. it was nice to have everyones support and i dont think its bad luck. i know that if i was to miscarry everyone would be there for me xx
