trying to conceive

Hello,

My husband and I are supposed to start trying to conceive in June. I would really like to start asap. He thinks that it is going to take one time and poof I will be pregnant. I keep telling him I don't think that it is that easy. I have been keeping track of my cycles for close to a year now and I know when I ovulate every month.

What I am wondering is for those of you who where keeping track of everything and knew when they ovulated every month and all or doing BBT or whatever method of knowing the best time to get pregnant. How long did it take you to get pregnant????

I never really took my temperature, just roughly estimated when I thought I would ovulate. I was lucky though it only took me three months to fall pregnant.

Good luck TTC! I hope it happens quickly for you!

I've been charting CM for over 5 years.

It took one cycle of BDing during my fertile phase to become pregnant.

I tried for 8 months when charting. We finally got pregnant, but miscarried at about 7 weeks. This time I was not charting very well. We tried one month and I didn't get pregnant so I told my husband that was his one chance, but the very following month I did get pregnant. I guess it is different for each person and each pregnanacy. I am sending you lots of good wishes and huge amounts of baby dust!!! Good luck TTC!

I never bothered with taking my temperature. I only estimated when in my cycle I ovulated as well.

It took us two months. First month I made sure I caught ovulation and nothing happened. Second month I forgot about it and fell pregnant.

omg my DH thought the SAME thing as yours...one session of unprotected sex and *poof* prego. I was trying to get him to agree to TTC last year and he FINALLY gave the ok 3 months ago...needless to say we've had BFNs the whole time i so wished for pregnancy before my 22nd bday but at this rate i'll be 23 be the time i have a little one to call my own! I sometimes regret not pushing DH sooner to TTC...but i know maybe he "wasn't ready" yet, but gosh darn every month of BFN makes for 1 more month of waiting.

Good luck to you hun, i hope all your careful ovulation monitoring pays off when you start TTC. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones to get it on the first go

Hi ktsl123

My and df started ttc in July o7 after coming off bcp and got a BFP in Dec 07. However I never charted or anything but i get the cm when i ov and ov pain so i knew roughly when i ov.

The reason i never charted was because i did not want to try to hard and get wrapped up in a world off ttc. I pretty much gave up ttc after Nov got me and sure enough i got my BFP a month later.

My advice to you would be just relax and enjoy bd with your dh and try not to obsess over getting pg as you can stress your self out. If you already know that you ov and when just go with the flow and it will happen when the time is right.

I would say charting is best for ppl who dont know if and when they ov, but each to there own i guess.

Take care and good luck
