Hi. I am 9 weeks pregnant. Went to see doc and she has refered me to the hospital for my first booking. I was just wondering what happens on the first visit and how long does it take ? Seems like a pretty stupid question to ask but i would really like to know. thank you.

I had my booking at about 10 weeks I think. They weighed me, measured my height and took blood for several different reasons. They also ask you about a million questions about your medical history and that of your OH aswell. Nothing to worry about - I got told it would be about 1.30mins but only about 45 mins.
Sorry forgot they also asked us where we wanted to have the baby etc.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, wishing you a very healthy and happy one!

It depends on areas, but usually the scans are 12 weeks and the 20 weeks! x

I arranged my own first scan as I heard that in Scotland they don't scan until 16 weeks and couldn't wait that long, but they were happy to book me one at 11 weeks. It was worth the wait, got a great pic xx
